The CDC has released new updates that include checklists for children aged 15 and 30 months, as well as updated milestones. The goal is to assist parents in monitoring their child's growth from 2 months to 5 years old. Additionally, there is now an app available that simplifies the process. It provides helpful tips and activities to aid in your child's development at every stage, while also allowing you to keep track of doctor appointments and recommended screenings. This feature is incredibly convenient!

It is crucial for children to achieve specific milestones in their play, learning, communication, behavior, and mobility from birth until the age of 5. This application allows parents to enter personalized information about their child(ren) and track their development using a convenient checklist. Due to COVID-19, we are currently in the process of including photos and videos to showcase the latest achievements, but rest assured—they will be available soon in an update!

The milestone checklist is not a substitute for a sophisticated developmental screening tool that has been thoroughly tested and approved. These milestones represent the typical abilities of most children (around 75% or more) at each age, as determined by experts who have reviewed all available information. Rest assured, the CDC will not gather or disclose any personal information that could identify you or your child. For additional details and complimentary tools to monitor your child's milestones, visit www.cdc.gov/ActEarly.

Simply put, the CDC's new milestones and checklists are incredibly helpful for parents to monitor their child's development and ensure they are reaching all the necessary milestones. The app is easy to use and provides useful tips and activities to aid in your child's growth at every stage. Additionally, it helps you keep track of doctor appointments and screenings. While the checklist may not be an official tool, it is still a useful resource to ensure your child is progressing as they should be.
